Eric & Amani Wedding Proposal at Douro
Eric had one chance to get it right — a surprise proposal on a terrace above the Douro river, with Amani having no idea what was coming. My job was to stay invisible, far enough back to capture the moment honestly while Eric got down on one knee against the golden light and terraced vineyards of the valley.
The Outcome
What began as a quiet afternoon walk turned into the start of their next chapter. I photographed the entire sequence — Amani's genuine reaction, the first embrace, the ring catching the light with the river curving below them. The result is a set of proposal photos that capture what actually happened, not a re-enacted version of it, framed by one of the most beautiful landscapes in Portugal.
