PORTO, PHOTOGRAPHY

A different kind of eye

I spent over a decade as a tattoo artist before turning fully to photography. That background shaped how I see — composition, light, and the story behind a single frame. Today I bring that same eye to every session, working in a documentary and fine art style that favors real emotion over rigid posing.

Based in Porto, Portugal.

A golden-hour couple session overlooking the Douro Valley, Portugal — Sid & Parina traveled from the USA for a portrait and vineyard photoshoot above the river.

Eric and Amani Wedding Proposal Douro Valley

Eric had one chance to get it right — a surprise proposal on a terrace above the Douro river, with Amani having no idea what was coming. My job was to stay invisible, far enough back to capture the moment honestly while Eric got down on one knee against the golden light and terraced vineyards of the valley.

Anthony Kottke Travel Portrait

Anthony and his wife came to the Douro Valley wanting portraits that actually felt like their trip — not a stiff, posed shoot, but real moments in one of the most striking landscapes in Portugal. We spent the session moving through the terraced vineyards, letting the light and the view do most of the work.
